LAUREL AVENUE HANDMADE GIFTS

 We are currently accepting other crafters items on a consignment basis. Crafters can rent wall spaces or booths and stock them with items. All items are chosen by Jury to include only handmade items pre-approved by us. No catalog wholesale crafts. There is a one time $20 set up fee for setting up new accounts in our system. Electric is an additional $10 per month.

RENTAL SPACE PRICES

FREE MONTH RENT: Vendors who sign a one year lease and pay their rent in full in advance, will receive one additional month free.


WALL SPACES:  All wall spaces are pegboard & have a maximum shelf depth of 8 inches.  No sidewalls. Wall spaces are 4 ft tall.  20% commission + 5% for credit card sales. These spaces are great because crafters are free to stock their space with as many approved items as they wish. No limits on stock you can fit in your area!

2’ wide - $20 month
4’ wide - $30 month
6’ wide - $40 month

DISCOUNT WALL SPACE RENTAL PRICES:  Sign a 1 year lease and discount $5 off the rental fees listed above.


BOOTH SPACES: All booths are pegboard and have 4 foot high back & side walls. 20% commission + 5% for credit card sales.

These spaces are great because crafters are free to stock their space with as many approved items as they wish. No limits on stock you can fit in your area!

RANDOM PLACEMENT:  Crafters items are placed throughout store. We retain a 30% commission + 5% for credit card sales. This option is ideal for crafters with larger items or a small inventory.

10 items or less - $10 month

+ $0.50 per additional item

No limit on the number of additional items you may sell, space permitting.

Add a random placement option to a wall, booth, or gallery space for an additional $10 per month.


GALLERY SPACE:  Artist’s may hang as many approved items as they wish within their rented wall space. We retain a 20% commission + 5% for credit card sales.

~NEW~ STRAIGHT COMMISSION: Crafters may have up to 50 small items or large items within a 2’x 4’ area. There is no monthly rental fee, just a 40% commission. While space permits.


CLASSROOM RENTAL RATES: Crafters and community members can rent our classroom space for craft demonstrations, classes, and parties. Rental includes the use of the classroom itself and restroom only. The classroom includes tables and four chairs. You may advertise for your events in our newsletter to promote your event. Individuals renting the classroom for 5 or more hours receive a 10% discount. The room must be scheduled in advance to reserve your space.

Craft related events: $10 per hour
Business / Services related: $15 per hour
Student Rate: $7 per hour

Add use of refrigerator, add $10

 Laurel Avenue Handmade Gifts sponsors many events throughout the year,
for those events, crafters may use the space at no cost. Ask about details.


REFERRAL PROGRAM: Refer a NEW crafter to us and receive a 10% discount on your next month’s rent when they sign a 4 month or longer lease when they mention you sent them.

CLARION UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: Receive a 10% discount while enrolled with valid ID. Excludes already discounted Gallery spaces.

 SHOWROOM RULES

RENT:  Due by the 1st of every month, payable by Cash, Check, Money Orders, Credit Card, or PayPal.  Late fees are as follows: $10 after the 5th, $15 after the 15th.  When paying rent please include on your check your vendor # and what you are paying for (ie. rent, work, late fee, etc..). 

FREE MONTH RENT: Vendors who sign a one year lease and pay their rent in full in advance, will receive one additional month free.

LEAVING:  All vendors must give a 30 day written notice prior to the end of the rental month that they are leaving. No merchandise may be removed from the store unless all debts are paid in full.

MERCHANDISE:  Any new merchandise must be approved by us first to avoid duplication. It is your responsibility to keep your area stocked with merchandise. Fully stocked areas tend to sell the most products!

PRICE TAGS:  We prefer computerized or typed price tags. Custom tags are available through us, prices start at $2. If you are using your own tags make sure you do them correctly & print clearly. The first line should list your vendor number, the second line should be a brief description of your item and the item # (4 digits or less), and the third line should be your price. Please put either a dollar sign ($) or a cents sign, which ever applies to your price. All this information should be on one side of your tag, large enough to read, legible and in the correct order. We are not responsible for errors due to incorrect or unreadable tags.  Make sure all items are priced.

RESTOCKING:  When you are finished restocking you must stop at front desk and show us your boxes, bags, etc. empty or full. Any merchandise you are removing from store must be inspected by us.

MAILING CHECKS:  If you want your sales checks mailed to you, you must provide us with self addressed stamped envelopes. Also, please list your vendor number in the bottom left corner of the back of each envelope.

ON-LINE CRAFT MALL SPECIAL OFFERS:  Vendors can offer our customers discounts & special offers on their items in the showroom. Coupons on web site and sales fliers will list the offer & include an expiration date. We create the coupons to your specifications. Customers will have to redeem the coupons at showroom. * Discounts will come off vendor’s price; store does not absorb these special discounts or offers that you the crafter offer.

VENDOR DEMONSTRATIONS:  This is a great way to increase your sales. As long as space permits, crafters are welcome to set up and do craft demonstration at the showroom anytime. We also have a classroom where you may set up special events from time to time.

CRAFT CLASSES: We have a classroom area where we teach a variety of classes and host local events. Crafters in the showroom are welcome to rent the classroom area to teach classes or host parties and special events. Check with us for prices and availability.

CREDIT CARDS AT CRAFT SHOWS: Crafters who rent showroom space are welcome to use our credit card account to accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover Card sales at craft shows. A 5% fee will apply per transaction. For more information on this service inquire for details. 

LAYAWAYS: Our layaway program is 60 days. An item will show up on your sales report as a layaway sale when it is first put on layaway and the following two payments will show up as layaway payment. Any items past 60 days and not paid in full, we will contact customer and if they do not come in and pay remaining balance within a week, we will return the item to your area. The customer is not refunded any previous amounts they have paid on a layaway.

WINDOW DISPLAY:  We have two window displays which are changed often. Items are selected randomly from throughout the store to decorate our displays. If you'd rather not have items in the display windows, please let us know. We will do the decorating of the window display, although are up for suggestions and new design ideas.

MISSING ITEMS:  If you have an item missing please check throughout the store, window displays, on your past vendor reports and in the untagged & broken item box before you have us look for it. If after that you still can't locate it, let us know and we will run a computer search and look for it, 9 times out of 10 it is has been placed in another booth.

RESTROOM:  The bathroom is open to employees & crafters only.  We do not let customers use it. To use it, ask for the restroom key at the desk. Please keep our bathroom clean and let us know if we need toilet paper, paper towels, etc...

WORKROOM & KITCHEN AREA: The workroom and kitchen areas are for Laurel Avenue employees only. As crafters you are allowed to use the restroom and classroom, but please be courteous and ask before using them.

MAINTAINING YOUR AREA: You are required to keep your rental area clean at all times. It benefits us all to keep the store looking great at all times. Please do not remove all your items from store to do a craft show, make sure you have enough stock to do shows and stock your area. Well stocked areas have proven time and time again to have higher sales. Also, rearranging your merchandise at least once, twice or more a month helps promote good sales.

WHOLESALE CRAFTS: We currently do not allow wholesale crafts from places such as Ohio wholesale, etc. We would like to keep the shop a great place for people to find handmade things.

PRODUCT LINES: We would like to keep duplications of craft categories to a minimum. This allows for a larger variety of products. However, if the products are different but the medium is the same, items may be accepted. For instance, we may carry pet items from one crafter who makes dog coats, another crafter who sells dog beds & treats may sell their items as well.  

STUFFED TOY ACT NO. 372:  Intended to protect the health and promote the general welfare of children of Pennsylvania, the cooperation of all persons will be immeasurable. Any stuffed article, plaything, that is attractive to children, likely to be bought as or played with shall be considered a stuff toy. Any crafter selling an item that fits this description must tag these items with a tag stating the following: "This article is not intended to be used a toy. It may be hazardous to infants and children".  We have these tags at front desk, please ask for some or include the statement on all your price tags to be safe.  If you use pre-made stuffed animals or dolls, please leave the existing registration tags on the items.
